Looking for a weekend getaway close to home? Beaumont has some really cool things to do & fun places to eat! We were impressed by how inexpensive and close by everything was - you can seriously visit the entire city in a couple of days! Everything was so close to each other that there was plenty of time to explore the city in between!
We visited Beaumont recently and wanted to highlight some of our favorite LOCAL spots that are Halal!
1) Al Basha Mediterranean Halal restaurant & Market
📍 2578 I-10 Frontage Rd, Beaumont, TX 77703
We ordered their sampler appetizer tray which included fried cauliflower, baba ghanouj (eggplant dip), hummus (chickpea dip). We loved their delicious lamb chops, and mixed grill (beef, chicken, lamb) with delicious rice and veggies. Everything was fresh, made in house with absolutely delicious flavors and seasoning. If you are vegetarian, you can even try their fresh salads, dips and falafel.
-The Al Basha Market is amazing with freshly-made breads, baklava and knafeh! We also tried some Mediterranean cheese samples and grape leaves which they have available to try in the weekends! What we loved was that everything was MORE reasonable vs. Houston - we went BACK to take some groceries and desserts back with us! We picked up international chocolates, soda, snacks and more! If we had a cooler, we would have definitely picked up more goods such as halal meat!

2) Taz Indian Restaurant (@tazindian_cuisine)
📍 5868 Eastex Fwy, Beaumont, TX 77708
- We ordered their samosas, chilli chicken. Chicken tandoori and chicken tikka masala with mango lassi. Everything was flavored and seasoned so WELL! Food was absolutely delicious and the service was also wonderful. They have a full menu with goat, chicken, lamb and vegetarian options.

3) Quenchies
📍 622 W Lucas Dr, Beaumont, TX 77706
Awesome NOLA style Sno-balls in Beaumont with over a 100 different flavors to choose from. These were very refreshing for the hot weather we had been going through! We tried the ocean breeze (mango, kiwi and strawberry) We will definitely go back and try some of the different flavors! Menu also include frozen coffee, frozen cold drinks, lemonades, cakes, cupcakes and more!

4) I heart mac and cheese (Port Arthur) .
📍3350 Jimmy Johnson Blvd Ste A, Port Arthur, TX 77642
We were very impressed by their hearty mac and cheese and cheesy and gooey grilled cheese sandwich. Not only do they have vegetarian options, they have VEGAN options as well. This was our first time eating ‘Beyond meat
Vegan burger patties and they were absolutely delicious - especially in the sandwich. They literally have something for everyone - whether you are eating vegetarian, vegan, gluten-friendly, keto or low carb! Everything was hot, fresh, and cooked well! The restaurant was clean and service was on point.
Items ordered: Vegan melt( Vegan grilled cheese with beyond beef protein), vegan grilled cheese, vegan delight mac and cheese
